Will Not Allow Us Military Operations on Its Territory, Mexican President
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum rejects President Donald Trump’s proposal
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has made it clear that her country will not allow US military operations on its territory.
This statement came after US President Donald Trump instructed the Pentagon to prepare for action against drug cartels in Mexico.
Claudia Sheinbaum said that cooperation between Mexico and the United States is certainly ongoing, but this does not mean that US troops should be deployed on our territory. She took a blunt stance and said, “We completely reject any such intervention, it is not part of any agreement and will never be.”
The Mexican president recalled that whenever this proposal was made, his government always rejected it, and this position remains the same today. The Foreign Ministry also supported the president’s statement, saying that the deployment of US troops in the country is unacceptable under any circumstances.
It should be noted that in recent months, the United States has repeatedly proposed that the US military take direct action against drug cartels in Mexico, but Mexican authorities have rejected it every time.
