Why are we afraid of the truth?
The imaginary concepts and standards created by society keep us away from the truth
If you have lied, stand by it
A man should have character

I am surprised and worried about what to do – should I stand by lying so that I appear to have character or should I hate lying and keep paying the price for telling the truth? Sometimes I am surprised to hear that even telling a small lie to avoid a big conflict is a reward? While the Holy Quran has cursed the liar.
The act of telling the truth is an important characteristic of humanity, but from the splendor of Karachi to the valleys of Hazara, there is hesitation and hesitation in delivering this truth in different cultures of Pakistan. Why are we afraid of telling the truth? This question requires a deep insight.
In our culture, family traditions, social pressure and the philosophy of honor and dignity become major obstacles in the way of telling the truth. From childhood, we are taught to “never show anyone your heart.” Sometimes these teachings come at the cost of truth. We believe that if we tell the truth, someone’s honor will not be damaged or their feelings will not be hurt, or someone will be offended by our actions.
Another big reason is expectations. The fantasies and standards created by society keep us away from the truth. We think that if we tell the truth, people will think badly of us or our honor will decrease. We find it better to lie to stay connected with others, because this truth can sometimes make us feel alone. But shouldn’t we think about how great a relief there is in telling the truth?

When we tell the truth, it feels like a burden is being lifted. Real relationships are built on truth. Their basic element is trust and honesty. When we dare to tell the truth, the roots of these relationships become stronger, and we establish deep and real connections with each other. There is a glimmer of truth in it that sets us free, that allows us to accept our weaknesses. There is a special joy in this freedom, which is not found in the captivity of lies. Pakistani society is often like a heroine, where honor, nobility and family name are of great importance. People weigh each other’s words and make decisions on this basis. That is why we feel a fear in speaking the truth lest we be thought crazy, foolish or bold. What a strange contradiction! On the one hand, we are in search of truth, but on the other hand, we are afraid of paying the price for it.
To overcome the fear of speaking the truth, we have to change our thinking. We have to understand that speaking the truth does not always make the situation worse, but often provides an opportunity to improve it. We should support each other, who speaks the truth so that they can feel safe. To initiate a positive change, we must resolve in our hearts that we will stand for the truth, even if it results in some failure, depression or social pressure.
The power of truth nurtures humanity and helps us to identify ourselves. Why not light the lamp of truth in society with a new determination and spread light in hearts? The path of speaking the truth is difficult, but it is the true beauty of our traditions and culture. We must know that truth is never silent, it always wins and that is our identity. It is certain that avoiding lies can really make life easier. When we are truthful, it not only strengthens our relationships but also keeps us personally satisfied. Many times, trying to lie can create additional complications, such as hiding the lie or facing its confusion.
There are countless benefits of truth. Your confidence is built and trust increases among your friends, family and colleagues. There is an abundance of personal peace and speaking the truth gives peace of mind and you feel more free. Social relationships flourish, your relationships mature on the basis of honesty. Problems are reduced, when you are truthful, you do not have to face the consequences of lying, which reduces complications in life. You get the strength of self-confidence, living with the truth makes you self-confident. How good it would be if we all made honesty our norm in our daily decisions and conversations to make life easier in this suffocating society. Speak the truth, but never stop speaking the truth about yourself.
