The helipad used by the Indian Air Force was also swept away in the flood relay, in which several soldiers were also swept away, and the search is ongoing. At least 4 people have been confirmed dead in the flood relay, while several people are missing, whose chances of finding them alive are fading.
The Indian army has also been called in for relief work. Three military helicopters are taking part in the operation to rescue the missing people.
The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the area and has advised local residents not to go near the river.
