US Imposes Sanctions on Palestinian Authority And PLO
Palestinian Authority rejects these sanctions
The United States imposes travel restrictions on the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).
According to the World News Agency, the US State Department in its statement accused the Palestinian Authority and the PLO of supporting terrorism and sabotaging the peace process with Israel.
The statement also said that the Palestinian leadership approached the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court and tried to take the dispute internationally, which is allegedly a violation of the Middle East Peace Treaty 2002.
The Foreign Ministry further alleged that the Palestinian Authority and the PLO are continuing to support terrorism, including the encouragement of violence, financial support to the martyrs, and alleged hatred in textbooks.
The Foreign Ministry statement said the move was in the interest of US national security. “PLO” and “PA” should be punished for deviation from their international promises.
These sanctions have come at a time when Israel has imposed war on Gaza for the past 22 months, in which more than 60,000 Palestinians have been martyred so far.
Meanwhile, illegal Israeli settlement and attacks on Palestinians have also increased significantly in the West Bank, where about 1000 Palestinians have been killed.
Meanwhile, the UN and other international organizations have filed war crimes against Israel, including the International Criminal Court in November 2024, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Joau Galant.
