The collision occurred during an attempt to land, an investigation has been launched, Federal Aviation
Two small single-engine planes collided in mid-air near Fort Morgan Municipal Airport in the US.
According to the international news agency, this terrible collision occurred when both planes were trying to land on the airport runway.
The Federal Aviation Administration says that there were two people on board each of the small planes. One person was killed and three were seriously injured in the accident.
However, eyewitnesses and rescue personnel said that one of the injured died during treatment after reaching the hospital.
Among those seriously injured in the accident, another injured person is in critical condition, so there is a risk of increasing the death toll.
In video footage from local media, a plane was seen completely destroyed near the runway, surrounded by black ash and traces of oil.
Eyewitnesses said that after the collision of the planes, black smoke and flames were seen in the sky, on which rescue teams were called.
The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint inquiry to investigate the incident.
