Trump's Big Offer: Plan To Bring Putin And Zelensky To The Same Table
This meeting will be the first direct meeting between a sitting US president and a Russian president since 2021
Washington: US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire for a trilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump says this meeting is possible only if both sides are willing to do it.
Trump said he plans to have another meeting immediately after the historic summit with Putin in Alaska on Friday, in which he would also like Zelensky to participate.
This meeting will be the first direct meeting between a sitting US president and a Russian president since 2021.
According to foreign media, the Ukrainian president was not officially invited to Friday’s meeting, which is raising concerns that Trump and Putin may reach an agreement that is not favorable to Ukraine.
It should be noted that Trump has been claiming during his election campaign that he would end the war on the first day he becomes president, but so far, there has been no significant progress in efforts to reach a peace agreement.
