Trump imposes a 35 % import tax on Canada
We are just saying that all the other countries have to pay taxes, the US president
Washington:
US President Donald Trump has announced a 35 percent import tax on products imported from Canada last night.
In a statement released on social media, President Trump said that from August 1, 2025, 35 % tax will be imposed on products coming from Canada to the United States, which will be beyond all sectors.
According to a US News Channel report, President Trump told Kirsten Wilker, host of the Met the Press, said that all the rest of the countries with which trade agreements have not yet received or received any trade letter are also going to impose a general tax rate.
President Trump said that we are just saying that all other countries will have to pay taxes, whether it is 20 % or 15 %. We will work on it now.
It should be noted that this week, more than 20 countries have sent President Trump letters, stating that they will be imposed on their products if they cannot make a trade agreement by August 1.
