Tri-Nation Series, Pakistan Defeats Afghanistan by 39 Runs
Pakistan won the first T20 match of the tri-nation series by 39 runs, chasing a target of 183 runs, the Afghan team was bundled out for 143 runs.
In the match played in Sharjah, Pakistan batted first and scored 182 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, setting a target of 183 runs for Afghanistan.
Afghan team captain Rashid Khan scored 39, Rahmanullah Gurbaz 38, Siddiqullah 23 and Darwish Rasuli 21 runs, no other player could cross double figures.
Pakistan’s Haris Rauf took 4, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz and Sufyan Muqeem took 2 wickets each.
Earlier, national team captain Salman Ali Agha scored 53 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 3 fours while playing an unbeaten innings.
Sahibzada Farhan and Muhammad Nawaz returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs each, Fakhar Zaman 20, Muhammad Haris 15, Faheem Ashraf 14, Saim Ayub 14 and Hassan Nawaz scored 9 runs.
Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed with individual scores of 21, Muhammad Nawaz 21, Fakhar Zaman 20, Muhammad Haris 15, Faheem Ashraf 14, Saim Ayub 14 and Hassan Nawaz 9.
Afghanistan’s Farid Ahmed took 2 wickets while Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Nabi, captain Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai took 1 wicket each.
