Trump accused Harvard of promoting anti -Jewish ideas and allowing foreign students to extremism
WASHINGTON / Cambridge: President Donald Trump’s administration has been ordered by President Donald Trump’s administration to provide a record of students participating in Palestinian protests through a court order.
According to AFP, the move was taken when Trump accused Harvard of promoting anti -Jewish ideology and allowing foreign students to extremism.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has said in a formal statement that Harvard will have to submit all immigration records, communications and documents to the court from January 1, 2020.
DHS Assistant Secretary Territory McLeflin says companies like Harvard are protecting foreign students who support violence and terrorism on campus.
Not only that, the Trump administration also tried to stop Harvard’s federal funding, cancel foreign students’ visas and ban their US entry, which the court has temporarily stopped.
Harvard University currently relies on 27 % of foreign students, who are very important financially for the university.
While other institutions like Columbia University have bowed to Trump’s demands, Harvard has still maintained resistance.
It should be remembered that there were major demonstrations in support of Palestinian attacks on Israeli Gaza attacks on the Harvard campus, which was attended by a large number of foreign students.
