Talking to the Prime Ministers of Thailand and Cambodia, both sides immediately want ceasefire and peace, US president
Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that as a result of his mediation, the leadership of Thailand and Cambodia has agreed to meet immediately after the fighting for three days.
Cambodia and Thailand leaders have agreed to initiate immediate talks after three days of fighting on their efforts for peace, according to a news agency Reuters report.

Donald Trump said he had spoken to Cambodian Prime Minister Hoon Manate and Thailand’s Acting Prime Minister Phartham Vichacha and warned him that he would not make a trade agreement with anyone if the border dispute was going.
He said the two sides urged ceasefire and peace immediately.
The report said that Thailand’s acting Prime Minister Phuttham Vichachai thanked Donald Trump and said that Thailand had in principle agreed that a ceasefire should take place but serious intentions by Cambodia should be seen.
The Thai Prime Minister said that he had told Trump to inform Cambodia that Thailand seeks bilateral talks for a ceasefire as soon as possible, steps for a ceasefire and strategy and a possible peaceful resolution of the conflict.
It is understood that more than 30 civilians have been killed and dozens injured in the war that began three days ago between Thailand and Cambodia three days ago and more than 30,000 people have been displaced.
According to Thai officials, seven of their soldiers and 13 civilians have been killed so far, while Cambodia says 5 of their soldiers and 8 civilians have been killed.
