New York: A tragic incident occurred in the US city of New York, where a 61 -year -old man lost his life due to a severe magnetic attraction to the MRI machine. The incident took place at the Nassau Open MRI Center in Westbruit.
According to reports, the wife of a man named Keith Calletar was conducting an MRI scan of knee, when she asked her husband to get up from the machine after the scan. As soon as Keith entered the MRI room, the heavy metal chain in his throat was drawn to the magnetic field of the MRI machine and hit the machine.
According to witnesses, the technician in Rome tried to save them but failed. Calletter was seriously injured as a result of the incident and doctors confirmed his death shortly afterwards.
MRI machines produce a very powerful magnetic field, which is strictly forbidden to carry any type of metal goods. Before the scan, patients are also instructed to remove metal goods and replace clothes, so as to avoid an accident.
