Six Secret Service Personnel Suspended on Failure to Stop the Assassination Attack on Trump
The US intelligence agency Secret Service suspended six personnel for failing to stop President Donald Trump on July 2024.
The suspension of these personnel consists of punishment and non -practical or limited responsibilities without a salary of 10 to 42 days. The announcement was made on July 13, 2024, in a statement issued on the completion of one year of the attack in Pennsylvania.
The Secret Service termed the incident a failure and said the attacker had fallen on the roof of a nearby building from which he had a clear opportunity to shoot Trump, killed one person and Trump was injured in the attack, while the attacker was shot dead on the spot.
The Secret Service said it had implemented 21 of the 46 proposals made by the Congress so far to avoid such incidents in the future.
“We have taken several steps so that this kind of incident will not happen again,” said Sean Kiran, director of the company.
The statement also revealed that another assassination attempt on Trump’s Florida golf course failed by the Secret Service, a man named Ryan Routh planned to target Trump in September 2024 and hid in the shrubs and intended to attack with a gun.
