Saudi Arabia And Iraq Stop Supplying Petrol To India; Modi's Problems Increase
The last supply to the Indian oil company from Saudi Arabia and Iraq was in July.
According to the British news agency Reuters, Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company Aramco stopped supplying crude oil to the Indian company Nayara Energy refinery.
In addition, Iraq’s state-owned oil marketing company SOMO also stopped selling oil to the Indian company Nayara Energy.
According to Reuters, this move was taken after the European Union imposed sanctions on Russian-backed companies.
Reuters sources said that since July, Indian energy company Nayara has not received any oil from Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
In August, Indian energy company Nayara relied only on Russian crude oil, which usually imports 2 million barrels of oil from Iraq and 1 million barrels from Saudi Arabia every month.
The Reuters report claims that Indian energy company Niara is facing difficulties in purchasing crude oil due to EU sanctions.
It should be noted that Indian energy company Niara’s refinery is located in the Vadinar area of the Indian state of Gujarat and is currently operating at only 70 to 80 percent capacity.
Reuters tried to find out the position of Niara on the closure of oil supplies from Saudi Arabia and Iraq, but there was no immediate response.
Meanwhile, the Russian embassy has confirmed that Indian energy company Niara is being supplied with oil directly from Rosneft.
Experts say that Indian energy company Niara is also facing difficulties with global shipping companies, due to which it is now relying on unregistered ships called “dark fleet” for oil delivery.
It should be remembered that in July, the CEO of Indian energy company Niara resigned from his post. This situation has become a major challenge for India’s energy supply.
