According to the latest data released by the UK’s Statistics (ONS), the most named ‘Muhammad’ was named among the boys born in 2024. The name was also leading in 2023 last year.
According to statistics, Muhammad’s name has been included in the top 10 since 2016, it was the second most popular name in 2022 and the fifth most popular name in 2021.
British media say the trend reflects the growing Muslim population and Islamic traditions in the country, where parents like to name children ‘Muhammad’ rather than the name of the Prophet.
Among the other popular boys’ names’ Noah ‘and’ Oliver ‘were third, while’ Olivia ‘and’ Amelia ‘were the third most popular names in the girls.
According to the report, the popularity of the names attributed to the royal family has seen a decrease, ‘George’ is now sixth and ‘William’ 27th.
