Many Issues Were Settled With Trump On The End Of The Ukraine War; Putin
The Russian and US presidents met in Alaska to agree to end the Ukraine war
Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that he reached an understanding with US President Donald Trump on ending the Ukraine war in a meeting held in Alaska last month.
According to the World News Agency, the Russian President expressed his willingness to hold peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky under Trump’s mediation.
It should be noted that Western countries, including the French President, had given Russian President Vladimir Putin until today (Monday) to respond to the issues agreed upon with President Trump.
After which, in his address to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in China today, President Putin defended his decision to invade Ukraine and once again held Western countries responsible for the Ukraine war.
In his speech, President Putin also said that important points were agreed upon in the meeting with Trump in Alaska and that it is hoped that moving forward in this direction will pave the way for peace in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Russian President once again emphasized that the current war did not arise from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but rather from a separatist uprising in Ukraine.
Putin accused Western countries of turning Ukraine’s internal uprising into a war with Russia by providing undue support and provocation.
The Russian President also called the Western countries’ continued efforts to drag Ukraine into NATO a cause of the Ukrainian war.
The Russian President thanked China and other allies for their facilitation and efforts in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
Earlier, after Trump’s meeting with Putin in Alaska, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff had said that the Russian President had agreed on some points of a possible future peace agreement.
One of which is a security guarantee for Ukraine, although Russia had not confirmed it until then.
It should be remembered that since the seizure of Crimea in 2014, Russian proxies had occupied part of eastern Ukraine.
