Kenya; The Number Of Casualties In Anti -Government Demonstrations Increased To 31; Arrested More Than 500
Anti -government protests have intensified since last month
Anti -government protests in Kenya also killed 19 people last month, while 31 were killed this month.
According to the World News Agency, Kenya tried to crush anti -government protest rallies in Kenya last year, with overall killings more than 100.
Amidst the anti -government demonstrations, a leader and blogger Albert Ojang also killed in police custody, causing a wave of grief among the public.
There were intense clashes between protesters and police in several cities, including Nairobi, in which protesters demanded President William Roto to resign.
Police not only opened indiscriminate firing on the protesters but also arrested more than 500 people who were allegedly tortured in prisons.
It is to be noted that these recent demonstrations in Kenya intensified on the occasion of “Sabah” on the day of the struggle for democracy in the country.
The day is celebrated every year in memory of July 7, 1990, when the people in Kenya staged demonstrations against the dictatorship of former President Daniel Arap Mvi in favor of multi -party democracy.
