SANAA: Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi was killed along with several ministers in an Israeli bombing of Yemen.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, Yemen’s Houthis confirmed that the group’s prime minister was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the capital Sanaa.
A statement issued by the Houthi group said that Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi was targeted along with several ministers on Thursday.
Ahmed al-Rahawi had been working as prime minister in Houthi-controlled areas since August 2024 and was targeted along with other members of the government while they were in a routine government workshop.
The statement said that the prime minister and other members were reviewing the actions and performance of their government over the past year.
A statement issued by the Yemeni president’s office on the social media website said that we announce that Ahmed Ghalib al-Rahawi, the Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Construction, was martyred on Thursday along with his fellow ministers.
It should be noted that the Israeli army attacked the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Thursday, while the ongoing war in Gaza has spread to the region.

The Israeli army said in a statement that the Houthi army was targeted in the Yemeni city of Sanaa on Thursday.
In response to the Israeli airstrikes, the Houthis have been launching rocket attacks on Israel and targeting ships of Western countries in the Red Sea.
In recent months, Israeli attacks on Yemen have increased, while the Houthis have continued to say that Israel’s attacks on Yemen will not stop the Houthis’ military operations in favor of the Palestinians.
Before the assassination of Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi, 10 people were killed and more than 90 civilians were injured in an Israeli attack in Sanaa, which Israel said also targeted the Yemeni presidential palace.
It should be remembered that the country is divided into two parts in Yemen following differences between the Houthis and the central government, and a large part of Yemen has been under the control of the Houthis since 2014.
