Iran Declares Three Days Of Mourning For Those Killed In Resistance Against US And Israel
A large public rally will be held in Tehran’s Inqilbeh Square today in support of the Iranian revolution
Tehran: Iran has announced a three-day nationwide mourning period in memory of those killed in resistance against the US and the Zionist regime.
According to Iranian state media, a large public rally is scheduled to take place in Tehran’s Inqilab Square this afternoon in support of the Iranian Revolution.
The announcement comes at a time when the number of deaths has increased during the unrest in Iran over the past two weeks, which Iranian authorities have blamed on the US and Israel.
Speaking to Iranian media, President Masoud Peshkeshian said that the US and Israel want to create chaos and instability in Iran. He said that these countries are instigating riots in Iran to achieve their goals.
President Peshkeshian appealed to the public to stay away from rioters and terrorists and not allow them to spread chaos.
He said that the government is committed to establishing justice and the people should have faith in it.
It should be noted that protests have been ongoing in Iran for the past 14 days. According to the Iranian Human Rights Organization, 192 people have been killed in these protests so far, while the American human rights organization HRANA claims that the death toll has reached 490.
