Iran and Israel Have Agreed On Ceasefire, Claiming US Official
There has been no formal or public confirmation of this agreement from both countries.
Washington: A senior US administrative official has told the US Broadcasting Agency that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel has been agreed.
However, the agreement has not yet been formally or publicly confirmed by the two countries.
The British news agency quoted a US Broadcasting report as saying that US President Donald Trump directly contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after which Israel agreed to a ceasefire that if further attacks were not carried out by Iran.
The report claims that top Iranian officials have also agreed to the ceasefire. According to the US official, the ceasefire was possible as a result of direct and indirect diplomatic contacts with US Vice President JD Venice, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, and US Special Envoy Steve Watkov for the Middle East. Although this news has come from US sources, no official statement has been issued by Iran and Israeli governments, which is why the agreement is still uncertain.
