In Russia, a man who revealed himself to Jesus has been sentenced to 12 years in prison by the court.
The man’s name is Sergey Torop, who used to call himself “Vasarion”. It established a new religious sect in the 1990s, Vasarion claimed that he was Jesus’ second birth.
It established a large spiritual community in the forests of Siberia, where thousands of followers followed its teachings.
Russian authorities arrested him in 2020 and accused him of exploiting children, physical and mental torture and illegal religious activities. The court recently sentenced Sergei to 12 years in prison. The punishment will be cut into a tough imprisoned camp.
It should be noted that Russian authorities keep a close eye on religious sects, especially those who have a tendency to mislead people or incite against the state system. The organization of Vesarion has been described as a “destructive religious sect”.
