Heathrow Airport Unveils Plans for Third Runway
Plans to build a third runway at Britain’s busiest and largest airport, Heathrow, have been unveiled.
Heathrow Airport management believes that the runway, terminals and infrastructure, can be built within a decade with a massive budget of 49 billion pounds.
If the plan is officially approved, flights to 30 new destinations will be allowed from here.

The plan will increase Britain’s GDP by 0.43% and will enable the movement of 66 million more passengers each year.
It is believed that there may be several obstacles in the way of the project, such as the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, who is strongly opposed to the construction of a third runway on noise and environmental grounds and may even start a legal battle over the issue.

The expansion project will require a major redesign to connect a section of the M25 to the new runway
A majority of members of parliament are expected to support the plan.
