Giving Smartphones to Children Under the Age Of 13 Is Harmful to Mental Health
A new study warns parents not to allow children under the age of 13 access to smartphones or social media, as it has a direct impact on children’s mental health.
This research was published in the Journal of the Human Development and Capitals, and according to it, children using smartphones under the age of 13 were found to have suicide such as thoughts, lack of self -esteem, sentimentality and distance trends, especially in girls.
Research has also shown that the youngest child receives a smartphone, the more he is mental health, accessing social media through smartphone, disrupting sleep, cyber -billing and deterioration of family relations, the potential causes of these effects are reported from 163 people.
Experts involved in the research have recommended the introduction of policies globally that can prevent the use of smartphones and social media of children under the age of 13.
In the light of the research, experts also suggested that children be kept away from social media for at least 16 years of age, a separate study from the UK shows that the lives of children using social media during puberty reduce their lives.
