Gaza: Us Aid Organization Also Involved in Killing Hungry Children
The US chief operations officer called me out of the room and angrily said, “Never do this to a client.”
A former security officer for the GHF, an aid organization established in Gaza with the cooperation of the US government and Israel, has exposed the involvement of Israeli forces and the organization in war crimes.
Former US soldier Anthony Aguilar, who resigned after witnessing war crimes in Gaza, told US Senator Chris Vanholen in an interview that he was assigned to ‘Site 2’, one of the designated sites of the US aid organization (GHF) in Gaza.
He said that one day he was on duty in the control room of Site No. 2 and was reviewing the distribution of aid when he saw some children who were being crushed in the crowd and rush. A man lifted them on his shoulders to save them from being crushed. Because site number 2 is narrower and smaller than all the other four sites.
The former American official then said that after seeing the children, an Israeli military colonel with us in the control room told us to tell our officers to take these children down. To which I replied that there was no problem, we are handling it and anyway these are children.
Anthony said that after hearing my answer, the Israeli colonel said that if you don’t do it, I will do it myself. Anthony said that I did not take this seriously because there were no Israeli troops on the site at that time.
But then the Israeli colonel went to the operations center and said something in Hebrew to someone on the radio that I did not understand. However, there was a security contractor there who knew Hebrew. He said that the colonel was ordering his sniper shooters to shoot the children.
Anthony said that after hearing this, I could not believe it. I asked my fellow officer if he said this on the radio, to which he replied in the affirmative. Meanwhile, the colonel returned to the room and I asked him, “Did you tell your officers on the radio to shoot at the children?” To which the colonel replied, “If you don’t control the situation, I will.”
Anthony said that I told the colonel clearly that you will not shoot at any of the children. Because if your officers make a mistake in aiming, others may get hit.
The former American officer said that fortunately, the decision to shoot could not be final because the children had already gone down and run away. They had no weapons, no shoes on their feet, no full clothes and they were hungry.
Anthony said that after the incident, the American chief operations officer called me out of the room and angrily said, “Never do this to a client.” To which I became confused and said, “I did not know that there was any of our clients in the room.” On this, the officer revealed to me that our client was the Israeli army (IDF).
