Further Action against Hamas Is Not Empty Of Danger; Briefing the Cabinet of the Israeli Army Chief
In Gaza, 50 hostages are still in Hamas captivity, of which about 20 are believed to be alive.
Israeli military chief of staff Lt. Gen. Aial Zamir has warned the cabinet in a briefing that further military operations against Hamas in Gaza could put Israeli hostages in serious danger.
According to Israeli media, Army Chief of Staff General Zamir told the ministers that in the current situation, the hostages are increasing and their condition has become very serious.
He said that I am in favor of Hamas’s defeat, but the more we intensify the operation against them, the more we will endanger the hostages.
General Zamir said the army has reached close to controlling 75 % of its target in Gaza.
General Zamir reminded the ministers that he had earlier told that Hamas could be defeated by intense military pressure to move the population of northern Gaza, but it was complicated because of the hostages.
Israeli Army Chief of Staff Zamir added that it was not true that the current situation should be continued without a final decision on the hostage.
It is to be noted that in Gaza, 50 hostages are still in Hamas captivity, of which about 20 are believed to be alive.
Israeli finance minister and right -wing extremist leader Baelil Smutrich strongly criticized the Army Chief of Staff’s statement and alleged that he was trying to put pressure on the government to end the war.
Bezelil Smithrich told the Army Chief that both of you can work. Beat Hamas and bring back the hostages.

Now only Gaza Remaining
Meanwhile, the Hostelges and Missing Families Forum, a representative of the Israeli hostage families, called the Army Chief’s statement a black flag before the political leadership.
After the Army Chief of Staff’s speech at the cabinet meeting, no final decision was made, while the second meeting on Monday ended without the result.
According to the Israeli news channel, three options are under consideration in front of the cabinet, first of all, the release of the hostages through a full ceasefire occupying the entire area of Gaza and pushing the civilian population to southern Gaza with an operation against Hamas in Northern Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu still rejects the ceasefire option and says that the war will continue till the complete destruction of Hamas.
However, in this 21 -month war, a large number of Israeli people now realize that it is not possible to get anything more militarily.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts for ceasefire in Washington, led by US President Donald Trump, have intensified.
The Israeli Prime Minister will visit the White House on July 7, while Israeli Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dormer is already meeting with US officials in Washington.
So far Hamas is demanding a permanent ceasefire, while Israel is only ready for a temporary ceasefire to resume the war.
