Chinese Foreign Minister To Visit India And Pakistan From Today, Meetings In Islamabad On August 21
Wang Yi’s visit important after Indo-Pak war, strategic and bilateral issues will be discussed in meetings with political and military leadership
ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is visiting India from today, will complete this visit and come to Pakistan on a 2-day visit on August 21.
During this visit, he will hold meetings with the civil and military leadership of Pakistan, in which strategic talks between the two countries, bilateral relations and global and regional issues will be discussed.
This visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister is important in that he is visiting after the 4-day war between Pakistan and India in May and the Iran-Israel war in June. After these wars, Pakistan’s relations with the United States have also warmed up.
China’s support for Pakistan played a key role in Pakistan’s victory in the recent war with India. During the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister, the two countries will review how the two countries can further deepen cooperation with each other in the changing geopolitical situation.
The visit will also review Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China, where he is going to China later this month to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, where he will hold bilateral meetings with the Chinese leadership.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is leaving for Dhaka on August 23. Earlier, his visit to Bangladesh has been postponed twice due to the regional situation. He was first scheduled to visit Dhaka in April this year, but the Pahalgam incident occurred and the second time was when India attacked Pakistan in May.
During his visit, Ishaq Dar will also meet his Bangladeshi counterpart, the interim head of the current government, Professor Muhammad Yunus.
