British Minister Resigns Over Excessive Rent Increase
Homelessness Minister Roshan Ara Ali Faced Criticism for Raising Rent on Her Own Home by 700 Pounds
London: Britain’s Homelessness Minister Roshan Ara Ali has resigned from her post following intense public and political criticism for raising the rent on her own home by 700 pounds per month.
According to British media, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, 10 Downing Street, confirmed that the resignation of the female minister came in the context of a personal property issue.
British Homelessness Minister Roshan Ara Ali, a Bangladeshi-born British politician, said that resigning was a difficult decision for me but I did not want my personal matters to interfere with the important work of the government. I have always followed the legal requirements in full.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer praised the role of Rosh Ara Ali upon her resignation, saying that the female minister has worked effectively on an important issue such as the problems of the homeless and is confident that she will continue to serve her party and constituency.
It should be noted that it was being said publicly that the minister, who has increased the rent of her house excessively, does not know the pain of the homeless and therefore is not qualified for this ministry.
