BRICS Condemns Attacks On Iran, Without Naming The US And Israel
BRICS also called for immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces
BRICS, an alternative group of world powers, strongly condemned the attacks on Iran, calling them an open violation of international law. However, the organization refrained from naming the United States and Israel directly.
The 17th summit of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa began as a two -day session in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeario.
The attacks on Iran’s citizens and nuclear installations after June 13 are a serious violation of international law, the statement said. BRICS demanded that Iran’s sovereignty be respected and such attacks should be stopped.
In addition, BRICS also called for immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The meeting said that increasing tariffs on global trade could prove to be dangerous to the global economy. The meeting also supported joining Iran and Ethiopia’s World Trade Organization (WTO).
It is to be remembered that the BRICS has now included Egypt, Iran, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates, which has made the alliance stronger and more effective.
