Ben-Gvir’s Al-Aqsa Mosque Raid Sparks Arab and Palestinian Fury
Arabia, Jordan, Hamas and Palestinian Authority Strongly Condemn Desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Israeli extremist minister Itamar Ben-Governor led a provocative march with hundreds of settlers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and forcibly entered it to perform religious rituals.
According to international news agencies, at least 1,251 illegal settlers were involved in the incident, who entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque under heavy Israeli police security and sang Talmudic songs, danced and performed prayers.
The Islamic Endowment of Jerusalem, the Palestinian authorities and the Jerusalem Governorate have described the incident as a serious provocation, a desecration of the mosque and a clear violation of the rights of Palestinian worshippers. During this time, worshippers, journalists and guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque were also attacked.
Israeli minister Ben-Governor made a provocative statement from the mosque compound, saying, “This place is for Jews, we will always be here.” His statement was strongly condemned around the world.
Saudi Arabia has called this move dangerous and called on the international community to stop Israel’s aggressive actions, which have become a threat to peace in the region.
Jordan also strongly condemned the incident, saying that Israel does not have any sovereignty over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and this incursion is a violation of international law.
Similarly, Hamas and the Palestinian Authority have also condemned this incident and called on the international community to take immediate action.
