American Swimmer Katie Ledecky Makes History In 800-Meter Race
American swimmer Katie Ledecky won her seventh world championship title with a brilliant performance in the women’s 800-meter freestyle competition.
The competition was held on Saturday, August 2, in which Ledecky not only maintained her lead but also made history.
The 28-year-old Ledecky completed the competition in 8 minutes and 5.62 seconds, while Australia’s Lani Pallister put up a tough fight and won the silver medal with a time of 8:05:98.
Rising Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh was in third place with a time of 8:07:29.
After the competition, Ledecky expressed her emotions and said that she was really happy, this is the fastest race of my career at the World Championships.
She added that this season has been wonderful and I knew that whatever the result, I would be satisfied. This thought keeps me free from pressure and allows me to enjoy the competition.
