Ottawa: After France and Britain, Canada is now seriously considering recognizing the Palestinian state.

France and the United Kingdom have already announced that they will recognize the Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly meeting in September.
Israel reacted strongly to the British decision, saying the move was equivalent to ‘reward for Hamas’.
Currently 149 of the 193 countries of the United Nations have recognized Palestine as a state, and that number continues to rise since Israeli attacks in Gaza.
