A Meeting Headed By The Chief Justice, Not Compromising On The Issue Of Missing Persons And Expressed Deep Concern
Judicial Policymaker Committee decides to protect judicial officers from external intervention
Islamabad: The meeting of the judicial policy -making committee headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi expressed deep concern over the issue of missing persons in the country.
A meeting of the National Judicial Policy -making Committee, headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, was held where Additional Attorney General and Chief Justice of all High Courts, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court, Chief Justice of the High Court, Chief Justice of the High Court and Chief Justice of Lahore, Chief Justice of the High Court and Chief Justice of the High Court.
The National Judicial Policy -making Committee meeting said that the National Judicial Policy -making committee expressed deep concern over the issue of the missing persons and said that the judiciary would not compromise on the issue of fundamental rights.
It said that a high level committee has been set up for institutional response on the issue of missing persons, a high -level committee on missing persons will also consider the executive’s concerns on the issue.
The meeting of the committee decided to protect the judicial officers from external interference. The judicial officers in the High Courts will be established for protection from external interference.
According to the statement, any complaints of external interference will be filed on the relevant forum, complaints of external interference of judicial officers will be addressed in the fixed timeframe.
The committee approved the establishment of a Commercial Lategation Corridor for immediate resolution of the trade cases. Under the commitment of immediate justice, the double doctor’s court regime also approved the implementation of a trial in the selected districts.
The statement said that constitutional petitions on financial and tax matters will be heard through division benches in the High Courts.
Similarly, the framework of the Model Criminal Trial Courts was approved to reduce the postponement of criminal cases.
The committee meeting said that a committee was constituted to ensure uniformity and high standards in the district judiciary headed by Justice (retd) Rahmat Hussain, the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, the registrars of the High Courts and the Director of the Federal Judicial Academy.
The National Judicial Policy -making Committee has approved the preparation of the Professional Excellence Index for the recruitment of lawyers for judges.
The committee appreciated the detailed presentation based on the reform of Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) and decided to release video links for the presence of prisoners and government witnesses being heard in the meeting and Judicial Academies will conduct training for police officers.
