Horrible Floods In Texas; 78 People Killed, 10 Girls Of Summer Camp Still Disappear
The most affected area of the flood is Kerr County, where the death of 68 people was confirmed
The severe and unexpected floods in Texas caused devastation.
According to reports received from different parts of the state, at least 78 people have been killed so far, including 28 children, while 41 people are still missing.
The most affected area of the flood is Kerr County, where the death of 68 people was confirmed. The famous Christian Summer camp called ‘Camp Mistic’ caused severe devastation, where 10 girls and a councilor disappear.
President Donald Trump has expressed regret over the incident, saying he can visit the affected area on Friday. “This is a heartbreaking event, and we ask that the people of Texas get out of this test soon,” he said.
The cause of the flood was an abnormal increase in water levels after torrential rains in the Gadalop River. With only 15 inches of rain, 850 people were rescued, some of whom were stuck with trees.
State officials have warned that further rains and storms are feared to be more likely to cause deaths. On the other hand, helicopters of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Coast Guard are engaged in rescue operations.
Meanwhile, experts have warned that the Trump administration’s deductions in the National Weather Service have potentially affected timely warnings before the flood. The former Noaa director said the lack of staff weakened the potential for predictions.
When asked about President Trump, he tried to put the responsibility on former President Biden and said, “This is a hundred years of disaster, it is not appropriate to accuse anyone.”
