Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill Dozens Seeking Humanitarian Aid – Crisis Deepens
The incident has deepened a humanitarian crisis in Gaza amid severe shortages of food, water and medicine.
At least 68 Palestinians were killed in ongoing Israeli strikes in Gaza on Tuesday, most of them people queuing for aid.
Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency spokesman Mahmoud Bassel said 30 people were targeted by Israeli fire outside an aid center near Khan Younis, where they were waiting for aid to escape starvation and destitution.
Another 20 people were killed and more than 100 wounded in an Israeli strike near the Zakim border crossing in northern Gaza, the spokesman said. The Zakim crossing is where some aid trucks have entered in recent weeks.
The Israeli military says its troops “only fired warning shots at people who were paying attention” in the Morgue Corridor in southern Gaza, and that they have “no reports of casualties.”
The incident has deepened the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which is already facing severe shortages of food, water and medicine.
