Only 36 Aid Trucks Entered Gaza, Child Hunger Intensifies
Media office says most aid trucks were looted before distribution
According to the Gaza government media office, only 36 aid trucks were able to enter Gaza on Saturday, far short of the 500 to 600 trucks needed for daily needs according to the United Nations.
According to Al Jazeera, the media office said most of the aid trucks were looted before distribution, and the situation was blamed on Israel, which it accused of “systematically and deliberately promoting security chaos.”
The office said in its statement: “Famine is swallowing the children of Gaza and the international community is maintaining a shameful silence.”
The statement called for “immediately opening border crossings and allowing adequate amounts of aid and milk for children to enter.”
