French Justice System Targets Dati, Ghosn in High-Profile Corruption Case
The court has also added Renault-Nisan former chairman Carlos Ghosan to the trial in the trial.
PARIS: French Cultural Minister Rashid Dutti will be prosecuted for corruption and abuse of powers, French judicial sources have confirmed AFP.
Rashida Dutti, who was a member of the European Parliament, is suspected to have illegally lobbying for the Renault-Nissan Car Group and received a million euros (about US $ 1 million) as a lawyer between 2010 and 2012, but there is no clear record of his work.
The court has also added former Renault-Nisan chairman Carlos Ghosan to the trial in the trial. Ghosan is currently based in Lebanon and has denied the allegations.
Dutti has termed the allegations a political attack. He said: “I condemn magistrates who refuse to do their job according to the code.”
He is also a candidate for the mayor of Paris, and is currently the mayor of the seventh district, where most of the French ministries, parliament and foreign embassies are located.
According to a close associate of French President Emmanuel Macron, Dutti will remain in office because “Referring to court is not a punishment.”
