Big Cyber Attack on Microsoft's Server, 100 Companies Affected
In a serious cyber attack, Microsoft’s share point server software has been targeted, which has affected about 100 companies, of which two have reported the attack.
Microsoft issued a warning on Saturday that attacks on the company’s share -point app servers are underway, which are widely used to share and cooperate documents within servers.
The warning also stated that the sharePoint servers, which were operating on Microsoft’s own cloud, were not affected by the attack.
The company has named this cyber attack as Zero-Day because it uses a weakness that has never appeared before, in this way hackers can enter weak servers and install a backdoor and then they can constantly maintain access to the entities they have targeted.
The Netherlands’ cyber security company Eye Security Chief hacker Visha Bernard said that after hitting one of its clients on Friday, his company scanned an internet with about 100 affected companies.
He added that the number was when the technique of the attack did not appear widely.
Vaisa Bernard refused to disclose the identity of the affected agencies, but said that the relevant national authorities have been informed.
The Shadow Sarwar Foundation also confirmed the affected cyber -attack of 100 companies and said that most of the affected institutions are from the United States and Germany, including government agencies.
In this regard, the British Cyber Security Company Sophos Director for Threat Intelligence Reef Pling said the attacks may seem like a single hacker or group, but the situation may change soon.
Microsoft said in a statement that the company has issued security updates and instructed consumers to install them immediately.
It is not yet known who is behind these cyber attacks, but Google, who has widespread Internet traffic, believes that China may be behind some of the recent cyber attacks.
The Chinese embassy in Washington has not immediately commented on the matter.
