Gapyeong and Gwangju Face Crisis as South Korea Battles Widespread Flooding

Two people were killed and two went missing in the South Korean entertainment site Gapyong on Sunday and flooding of vehicles.
Following the tragic incident, the torrential rains on Wednesday have increased the death toll across the country, while 12 people are still missing.
Rescue teams, including soldiers, are busy removing debris in the affected areas and searching for missing persons. Particularly in the affected areas like Guangzhou and Gapyong, the situation has become very critical.
The meteorological department says the rains will stop by Sunday night, after which the heatwave is likely.
South Korea’s southern regions have already received heavy rains, which have now moved to the northern areas.
