China Openly Supports Iran's Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy
Wang Yi says China supports Iran’s sovereignty, national dignity and peaceful nuclear development
BEIJING: China has once again announced support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqi met in Beijing, which discussed bilateral relations, the situation in the region and the nuclear issue.
Wang Yi said China supports Iran’s sovereignty, national dignity and peaceful nuclear development. He said that China appreciates Iran’s commitment that it will not build nuclear weapons and use nuclear energy only for peaceful purposes.
The Chinese Foreign Minister made it clear that China strongly oppose the use and threats of force and has always been supportive of the solution to the problems through dialogue and diplomacy.
He said that China appreciates Iran’s efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East and supports the continuation of diplomatic dialogue.
China emphasized that it, along with Iran, will continue to play a constructive role in establishing nuclear proliferation and peace and stability in the region.
