Armed Clashes In Two Groups In Syria's Sweda, Killing 89 People
89 people have been killed and dozens injured in armed riots between two groups in the Darza -majority city south of Syria.
According to Arab media, the clashes that began after the armed route had turned into ethnic riots between the local Darwas sect and the nomadic tribe.
The majority of the dead are reported to be from the Darwas sect’s armed militia, while more than 10 armed tribes have been killed in the clashes.
The Sweda Governorate confirmed the death of six Syrian military personnel in the clashes.
Israeli media, meanwhile, claimed that the Israeli army had bombed government tanks in Sweda. According to local police, the clashes began between local armed militias and tribes after the incident in the eastern part of the city.
