US Court Has a Big Decision on the Main Accused Of 9/11, Including Khalid Sheikh
Khalid Sheikh, the main accused in the 9/11 attack in the United States, was detained from Pakistan in 2003
The US Appeal Court rejected the plague agreement to end the death sentence in exchange for the alleged mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
According to the World News Agency, US court Judge Petraia Mille and Numi Rao in their decision, legalizing the Defense Minister’s decision, dismissed the decision of the military judge on November 6, 2024.
He said that the Defense Minister’s decision to abolish the Play Bargain agreement with the criminals falls under the law, so we do not feel the need to question his decision.
It should be remembered that a military court had earlier prevented the defense minister from canceling the agreements, declaring these agreements effective and implemented with the culprits. On which the appeal was referred to the court.
The Appeal Court added that the military judge not only is prevented from further hearing on the decision, but also forbidden any crime of the accused or any action under the agreement.
The appeal court’s decision is now expected that the 9/11 accused will be prosecuted in a regular military court where the survivors and the public will have the opportunity to see the process of justice.
The decision has come at a time when the trial for almost two decades has been delayed in progress due to legal complications and advance hearings.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of 9/11, has been imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay’s US prisoner since 2003.
It is to be remembered that the agreement was made with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and two other accused Walid bin Atash and Mustafa al -Husseavi.
The plague agreement was announced in July 2024, the main purpose of which was to bring the delayed trial for years to end.
However, there was severe criticism from the relatives of civilians, especially those killed in the 9/11 attacks.
On which the then US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin canceled the Plans Bargain agreement with the 9/11 suspects.
It is to be noted that the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and 2 other accused is under discussion whether they can be tried in a transparent and fair manner, especially in the background that they are accused of torture during CIA detention.
