New York: Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent leader of Palestinian protests in the United States, on Thursday filed a claim against the Trump administration for $ 20 million (about Rs 56 million).
Mahmud Khalil says he was illegally arrested, detained and tried to deport him to intimidate him and his family.
The application has been submitted by the Center for Constitutional Rights. The claim states that Khalil suffered severe mental suffering, financial loss and loss of honor.
Khalil said: “I wasted 104 days, I stayed away from my wife, could not even see the birth of my first child. It is time to seek the answer to the misuse of power.”
He said he was kept in a room with more than 70 people during detention, where there was no light, nor was any privacy.
