Spain Also Launches War Crimes Investigation Against The Israeli Prime Minister
In June, a boat traveling to Gaza with relief goods was seized and human rights activists were arrested
Spain’s national court formally launched an investigation into war crimes against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Foreign Minister and several senior officers.
According to the World News Agency, the Spanish court is conducting the investigation in the wake of an attack on a boat called Madeline.
The boat was a human rights organization called “Freedom Flotilla Coalition”, which was traveling from the Italian port to Gaza in June.
It is to be noted that Israeli forces have besieged Gaza and do not allow relief supplies to go to the area.
The Israeli army also threatened to prevent aid boat Madelin from coming to Gaza, but human rights activists did not bring it in order.
Israeli forces used drones, tear gas, and force. 12 human rights activists aboard the boat were also detained.
Which is being called a violation of international law.
The European Parliament member and lawyer, James, has announced that he has filed the case in the National Court of Spain by a Spanish activist named Sergio Torbio and the “solidarity with the Committee for Arabia”.
He added that the court acknowledged that the attack on the rescue boat was a crime and would be investigated whether the force was used unconsciously, illegally detained and what was the responsibility of the Israeli authorities.
Remember that this is the first time that a European court has announced a direct war crimes investigation against the Israeli top leadership.
If the allegations are proved in the investigation, it may also result in international arrest warrants, and the victims may approach the World Criminal Court (ICC) for further proceedings.
No official statement has been made by Israel on the matter, but in the past Israel has rejects such an investigation by international courts.
It should be noted that the World Criminal Court has also issued arrest warrants for the Israeli Prime Minister for committing war crimes in Gaza.
