Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogadanov
The decision has come at a time when President Putin is bringing widespread changes to the cabinet
Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogadanov from both of his positions. He has also been retired from the Middle East and Africa as a special presidential delegation.
Bogadanov, 73, has been the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry since 2011 and since 2014 as the President’s Special Representative. He represented Russia in issues related to Syria, Libya, and the OIC.
The Russian government has not given any reason for his dismissal, but the decision has come at a time when President Putin is making widespread changes in the cabinet.
A few days ago, Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starwate was fired, whose body was later found in his car, a bullet wound on his body. Russian investigating agencies have described it as a potential suicide.
Now, after the dismissal of Bogadanov, Russian political circles are expressing concerns over more unconstitutional changes.
