International Criminal Court Issues Arrest Warrants For Amir Taliban
Warrant arrests of Taliban government Chief Justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani were also issued
Judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants for Amir Taliban Habit Allah Akhundzada and Chief Justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani.
The International Criminal Court issued warrants against these Taliban leaders on allegations of discrimination against women and depriving them of their basic rights.
International court judges have declared these serious allegations against Taliban leaders as a crime against humanity.
The international court judge said in the judgment that although the Taliban had imposed some restrictions on almost all, especially women and girls were deprived of basic rights and freedoms on the basis of sex.
According to the World Court, Taliban leaders continued the crimes from August 15, 2021 to January 20, 2025.
The decision states that during this period, women were deprived of the freedoms of education, personal life, family, movement, expression, thinking, religion and conscience.
In addition, people were also targeted whose sex or sexual identity was not consistent with the Taliban’s policy.
It should be remembered that the World Criminal Court (ICC), based in the Hague, hears worldwide war crimes and crimes against humanity.
However, he has no authority to arrest anyone. Therefore, the court has to rely on its member states to arrest the accused and hand them over to the court, but in the past, this has not happened.
It should be noted that anyone against whom the International Criminal arrest warrants cannot travel to a member country because there is a danger of his arrest.
