21,000 Palestinian Children Disabled In Gaza War, Un Makes Shocking Revelation

Geneva: A UN committee has revealed that at least 21,000 children have been disabled as a result of the ongoing war in Gaza.
According to the report, since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023, nearly 40,500 children have been injured due to war conditions, more than half of whom have become disabled.
The committee said that the Israeli army’s evacuation orders were not accessible to blind and deaf people, due to which they could not reach safe places. Giving an example, it was said that a deaf mother was killed with her children in Rafah because they could not hear or understand the evacuation instructions.
The UN report said that the restrictions on aid supplies were having the greatest impact on people with disabilities, as most people were left dependent on others for food, water and medicine.
The committee warned that the newly established private aid system had only four distribution points, compared to 400 under the UN system, making it even more difficult for children and people with disabilities to access aid.
It added that 83 per cent of people with disabilities had lost their equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes and prosthetic limbs, which Israeli authorities consider “dual-use items” and do not include in aid supplies.
